Edgar A. Silveira has a double Ph.D. in Mechanical Sciences (University of Brasília, Brazil) and Wood and Fiber Sciences (University of Lorraine, France). Silveira is a professor at Departamento de Engenharia Mecânica da Universidade de Brasília The Professor is involved with biomass energy, waste management, thermochemical conversion, heat transfer and energy systems. Integrates the Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ciências Mecânicas (PPGCM-UnB) e é pesquisador do laboratório de Energia e Meio Ambiente LEA-UnB e coordenador do Laboratório de Combustão do ENM-UnB. Silveira é ativo em pesquisa em modelagem experimental e numérica de pirólise, torrefação, gaseificação com o objetivo de converter resíduos e biomassa em vetores verdes e produtos sustentáveis.
